There are a lot of canines looking for homes, which causes the shelters to be overcrowded. In order to create place for younger dogs with a better chance of adoption, most older canines aren’t given much time to find a home before being scheduled for slaughter. A dog in this predicament was discovered by one man, and the result is lovely.

Recently, @zachskow, a TikTok user, posted a video of Brody, a senior Pit Bull. Brody was abandoned at a shelter when he was 17 years old, and before he was scheduled to be put to death, he was allowed one week to find a family. Fortunately, this puppy was saved from the death shelter and is now being cared for and loved by a dog rescue. Check out the video below to see this beautiful and lively dog, and help him find a home!

@zachskow A lot of you have been asking about Brody, so I wanted to take a minute to re-share his story . It’s a really wonderful video and I hope it warms you inside. He is off of quarantine, has finished his medication, is eating and pooping like a champ and he’s ready for his foster home or full-time adoption! Please shoot us a message if you’re interested. —— We saved a very special old boy today! 17 year-old, owner surrender. @marleysmutts #powertothepities Today was one of those full spectrum days. We honored our dearlt departed friend Anne, who was in many ways a mother figure, since the loss of her son, Chris. We’ve been through a together, including our own recoveries. We wanted to honor a life by saving a life, so we swung by the shelter and rescued this old pal, who was scheduled for euthanasia Monday. He’s a beautiful old pit bull who deserves to spend his last days surrounded by love. So that’s what’s gonna happen. 🙌♥️🐕 #pitbull #marleysmutts #pitbullawarenessmonth #kerncounty #adoptdontshop #forcryingoutloudspayandneuteryourpets ♬ Paradise – Ikson

Brody is so cute, it’s unbelievable! We find it inconceivable that someone would abandon such a precious and old dog at the shelter. We wish Brody the best of luck in finding a loving companion for the rest of his life!

People in the comments agree that this pup shouldn’t have been taken to the shelter in the first place. @audriez2 said, “Who leaves a dog in a shelter that old? Did those people realize how lucky they really were? I’d give my left arm to add years on my dogs’ lives!” Another user, @fockisdishiepeach, commented, “So sad. Why would anyone do that? He just wants love.” Brody deserves to be spoiled by his new family!

Others thanked this user for rescuing Brody. @maryjackson3546 commented, “Thank you for saving this beautiful senior,” and @dewills64 said, “So wonderful how you are helping him in his senior years… God bless you!” We are so thankful for people like this man who rescue dogs in need!

We wish Brody luck in finding a new family soon. Although it’s impossible to predict how long this dog will live, he should do so in peace in a loving home!
