Senior dogs have only a 25% adoption rate. Puppies have a 60% adoption rate. There are so many wonderful reasons to adopt a senior dog, including they have grown out of those destructive puppy habits, like chewing everything they can get their little teeth on! Plus, senior dogs have had their personalities develop, so you know what your dog’s temperament will be.

And most importantly of all, you will be giving an older dog the chance to live out their golden years in a loving, forever home. Which is what happened to Star, and @Adoptmas shared a beautiful video of Star leaving the shelter.

You just love to see it! @User737382 posts, “When the lady said “I’m so happy for you…I love you” I instantly cried.” Awwwww. It really does warm your heart. @Audrey_seebs replies, “I’m sobbing… that sweet baby deserves the absolute best!” @Moon adds, “Not me bawling instantly. So happy for that sweet baby.”

If you are considering adopting a dog, please consider welcoming a senior dog into your home. These pups deserve all the love and kindness in the world.
