Nobody knows where Botella came from, a charming stray dog who appeared at the Arauco Maipú shopping center in Chile.
Botella may not have had a companion when she first started, but that was not the case for very long.
Silvana Katalina, a mall-goer, first met Botella after stopping to shop last year. She was immediately captivated by the dog’s love for people and his obsession with toys.
According to Katalina, “He never parts from his little ball.” The most astonishing thing about Boletta, though, is what he performs with the ball. “He is very tender and loves to be pet.”
Botella created a unique game in which he persuaded strangers to play fetch by cleverly using an escalator.

Botella is a natural at making friends. And it shows. Customers enjoy interacting with him, and mall personnel and security make sure he stays happy and healthy.
An animal enthusiast who lives close to the mall, Fernanda Pérez said, “He is fed and cared for. He looks very happy.”
(Employees at the mall are even known to look the other way when Botella helps himself to replace balls at stores inside the mall.)
Botella can be a stray dog with a lonely and depressing past.
But his life is not devoid of affection because of the welcoming attitudes of friends and total strangers at the mall.
You could even say that they are making sure he has a ball.
