Orla, a boxer-Staffy owned by Kimberley Bridges, started to tug a lot on the leash as they walked. A big automobile sped up toward them on the sidewalk as the two flew across the pavement.

Bridges discovered that Orla had saved her life after she looked at a neighbor’s dash camera tape.

“It was a lot faster in real-time than what I expected,” Bridges said. “We’re pretty lucky.”

You can watch the footage here:

Even though Orla has only been living with Bridges for a short while, she already feels a strong attachment with her family and will go to any lengths to keep them safe.

According to the Daily Mail, a car passed Bridges at 70 mph while millimeters away.

But because everything transpired so rapidly, Bridges was initially unaware of how close the call was. Bridges saw Orla still seemed on edge when they returned from their walk, and she knew she had to collect the videos at that point.

Bridges remarked, “When I got home, I thought Orla was a little shaken, which made me think this may have been closer than [I] thought.”

Orla is delighted that her loved ones are secure. Her life is better than it has ever been now that she has gained recognition as a hero.

Bridges added, “We [always] loved her very much and knew she was very special. But I guess [now] I owe her my life, so she gets even more treats. Extra belly rubs, too.”
