Animal shelter employees and volunteers are absolute superhumans. The task is demanding, tiring, and occasionally quite difficult. It can be difficult and stressful to muck out kennels, exercise dogs, and work with hostile animals, and occasionally aggressive humans who are adopting or giving up an animal.
